Southend Carers Announces Closure
Date: 24th July 2024
It is with deep regret that Southend Carers announces its closure, effective 30th July 2024. Despite our unwavering dedication and efforts to serve unpaid carers in our community, severe and ongoing financial challenges have made it impossible to continue our operations.
For almost 25 years, Southend Carers has been a pillar of support, providing vital services to unpaid carers in our community. Our mission has always been to offer assistance, hope, and a sense of community to unpaid carers. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the significant impact this will have on the individuals and families who rely on us.
We understand that this news will be difficult for you to hear, and we want to assure you that we have exhausted all possible options to avoid this outcome. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to secure the necessary funding to continue operations.
We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for anyone currently using our services. We will work closely with local organisations and partners to provide information and assistance regarding alternative services that can offer support. We will keep our website and social media up to date with those details, as our office will close permanently on July 30th.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all our supporters, volunteers, and partners who have been part of our journey. Your dedication, generosity, and belief in our mission have been invaluable.
And importantly, we’d also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff we have been so lucky to have had working with us, some for many years. Their enthusiasm, dedication, creativity and innovation have allowed us to deliver significant and important pieces of work that have made a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in our community.
While this chapter is coming to an end, we hope that the spirit of Southend Carers will continue to live on through the countless lives we have touched. We are proud of the difference we have made together and remain hopeful for a future where the needs of unpaid carers in our community are met with compassion and care.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Daryl King, Chair, Board Of Trustees
